Computer Infrastructure
In the Co-PI’s office and
laboratory are two MacIntosh computers: a G-3 Powerbook laptop (which is
available for fieldwork) and an iMac G-4 desktop computer. Software includes
Microsoft Office 2000, as well as programs for phylogenetics (MacClade, PAUP,
and PHYLIP) and statistics (BIO∑TAT and Statview).
The Department has GIS capabilities using an ArcView platform. SPSS is available
to faculty online through the university’s web server. Other computer equipment,
including a flat-bed scanner, is available
in the Co-PI’s Killgore research lab. Additional MacIntosh and
IBM-compatible computers are available 24 hours/day in the Open Access Computer
Lab of the Hastings Electronic Learning Center
